Important! Skin care for Vata season!

Greetings from cold New York 🎵

How are you celebrating the new year?

Your body, your mind, your thoughts,

to they have a smooth flow?

Our skin's metabolism reduces and produces lower amounts of sebum during the midwinter. This turnover blocks pores, making them appear larger and leading to issues such as adult acne.

In a heated apartment, precious moisture in our skin quickly evaporates, resulting in rougher, more rigid skin.

This is especially prevalent in middle-aged individuals and older, for Vata ages.

How to maintain skin in the wintertime!

1.Wash your skin properly

2.Immediately moisturize your skin with oil, cream, or butter after rehydrating

3.Stimulate with gentle scrubs

4.Gently massage

1. Wash your skin properly

Face:

Thoroughly remove makeup based with oil.

Be careful not to irritate the skin.

Don't forget to remove the makeup remover, too.

Body:

Removes sebum from the skin. We suggest using a product that does not contain surfactants, such as bar soap.

2.Immediately moisturize your skin with oil, cream, or butter after rehydrating

Face:

  1. Use oil or cream to prevent water from evaporating from your skin, after rehydrating with toner.

  2. There are two types of dry skin: "Water dry" and "Oil dry."

  3. Choose products that are compatible with your skin, particularly in the eye area.

Body:

After bathing, pat dry skin with a towel, then apply Abhyanga oil all over your body. Pay special attention to the toes, heels, and elbows. The elbows and knees contain few sebaceous glands, whereas the heels have none at all!

3.Stimulate with gentle scrubs

Face:

At Wild Lotus, we use Apricot kernel, Amla, Neem or Orange powder for facials depending on skin and dosha type.

Body: For full body , we use Almond, Chickpea, Chamomile or Triphala powder depending on skin and dosha type.

4.Massage

Face:

Because of the low temperatures, blood flow will be poor.

Massage to relax your muscles and aid your metabolism.

Avoid rubbing your skin.

Body:

When exercising, be conscious of your breathing and focus on a smooth flow from the inside to the outside.

Abhyanga sessions allow the oil to flow into the body and stimulate blood flow.

Our skin protects us from the outside world.

Let's take good care of it.

Namaste.
